The start of preschool and some pics of Juliet

Miles was so excited to get back to preschool this year. He started asking me about three weeks before the start of the year, "Mom, when do I get to go back to preschool and see all of my friends?" Apparently his first day of preschool went well, but Miles was not happy that I made him have a nap when he got home - he was very tired. I could hear him mutter under his breath after hearing my nap declaration, "In my world there won't be any mommies." Of course five minutes later he was telling me how much he loved me. Its good to be a mom.
Clouded by the warm air of the dryer vent.
Lots of rain.
Juliet is starting to grab her feet and roll to the side.
Cutest face ever, but I am a little bias. Love this outfit and don't know why. Good buds. She looks like such a little dude here.

Very likely the longest post ever.

We've had a nice summer despite the less than lovely Calgary weather and the fact that until the end of July Juliet was sleeping on my stomach most of the time. Here are some pictures from this summer.
WATERTON was great, despite the weather. Miles hiked the Bear's Hump twice, once with just Coy and then with all the cousins and I decided to go too. We also hiked up to Crandle Lake from the Cameron side with everyone. Apparently on Miles first hike up Bear's Hump people kept stopping him to tell him what a good job he was doing hiking up all by himself. It got to the point where he'd slow his pace even further if he heard people coming, just so that he could "visit." Miles has a hiking pace I can get behind. We swam a bunch and it was just fun to have a bunch of people around. Mom and Dad; Cathy, John and Rachel; Murray, Nadine and Anna; our family; and Jen Sherwood with Dana, Megan, Easton and Everett were all there. Having 8 and 10 year old girls at the cabin with a baby is a perfect combination. They were always eager to hold Juliet. Thank you to Rachel as well for being such a delight.
Mom and Dad just before heading back home. Notice the snow on the Mountains. Ahhh, Waterton. The three bulls. Yup, I had to sterilize the toys before I'd let Juliet use them again. The Crandle Group - with me. Thanks Nadine for taking Juliet down the hill. The Crandle group with Murray. We decided it looked like John was having a vision. Juliet ready for the hike back. Fed and happy!
Easton, Miles and Everett taking a break on the way to Crandle.
Easton and Everett after their hike up Bear's Hump. A few pictures from the top. Miles was not very happy about having a family picture taken. Seemed okay with the cousin shots though. Gorgeous Dana. Murray taking care of that leg. Trying out the new head band for Juliet's Sunday outfit. I'm still not convinced that head band wearing isn't the Western World's version of foot binding or neck elongation. Every time I take them off Juliet she's got huge divets in her head. The only picture we took the day of our 10th Anniversary is of Juliet - I had to get a picture of her cute dress. Coy was at the church until 3:00 or 4:00 and we were all so tired we tooked a several hour nap. Yeah 10 years!!!!!!! We went to Kalispell for our anniversary weekend and ended up camping with Coy's mom, Niki, Chase, Navy, and Will. We definitely know how to keep those romantic embers burning. It was fabulous and both Miles and Juliet were great little campers. Besides, Dixie had the Buckingham Palace of tents. Our family was in the west wing.
These are a few pictures from the visitor's centre at the top of Logan's Pass. Miles was thrilled with the mountain goats that were less than five feet from us. The little baby was especially cute. Juliet smiling at Coy after a cozy night's sleep with me in the tent. Miles trying to convince me that it was day and time to get up when everyone else was still asleep, including Juliet. I think it was about 6:45 am at the time. Dixie looking campground chic. I was soooo concerned about keeping Juliet warm and having a way to feed her a warm bottle in the night. I slept with the bottle next to my skin to warm it up with body heat and Juliet was very cozy. It was chilly, but she stayed covered all night and only woke up once to eat. Go Jetti. Miles having breakfast. You'll notice that no one else is up, except Coy, the photographer. Juliet checking out our sleeping accommodations. We went miniature golfing with Miles for the first time and he got a HOLE IN 1 on HOLE 13. Direct quote, "Mom, did you see that. It went straight in. That was AWESOME!" It was awesome. How many of us have been waiting for that allusive hole in 1 on any course. Go Miles. Miles, Chase, Will, and Navy. They look ready to take on the course. We went to the waterslide in Kalispell. It also has miniature golf and bumper cars. Miles was really about one inch shy of the height requirement, but the owner and Coy share a mutual love - and I have to say frustration - with the Cubs so he let Miles ride despite the height requirement and and let Coy go in free. Go Cubs. As you can see, Miles can barely reach the controls but he was ecstatic. Navy and Chase on the bumper cars. Juliet hung out with Grams and Niki most of the day. We found her some shade for napping, eating, visiting, and all those other things that babies do. I spent most of the time running up the hill and riding the slides with Miles. Coy unfortunately lost Miles' trust after he got dunked on their first run so he was sticking close to me the whole day. Juliet was so good and so were Niki and Grams. Thanks you guys. I just had to post this for the chubby factor. You've got to pinch those legs. We were in Fairmont for a week, at first with just our family and then with Mom and Dad as well. The weather was hot and we had lots of visitors. It was a great time. Don stayed with us on Saturday night because he was the Stake visitor for the Fairmont Branch. Thanks for the cherries by the way. On Saturday Don called and asked Coy to speak on Sunday and for me to share my testimony. This branch has only 9 active members. The nursery and primary were both self serve, and on Sunday when we walked into to church we found out Charlie (Coy's step-dad) and his daughter and family were all there. So we did self serve primary and then had a fun day and a half with Charlie, Justin and Byron and Suzanne and family.
Mom and Dad had a great time getting to know Juliet. They both took advantage of opportunities to hold her and Mom was great about feeding her so that Miles, Dad and I could go swimming.
Juliet has two poses. Arms as close to her chest and mouth as possible, or arms stretched straight above her head or straight out. Its soooo cute. We hiked the hoodoos in Fairmont. Here's Colby, Miles, Caitlyn and Ashley. Juliet's first hike ever. She wasn't very impressed with how hot it was underneath the blanket. Miles held Murray's hand most of the hike up Crandle and Coy noticed that Murray doesn't have to bend down to hold Miles hand. Apparently Coy does. August 14th. Juliet is 3 months old today - in Fairmont. Juliet's first time at the pool. There wasn't enough shade and the pool was a little too cold for her, but we had a good time watching everyone else. Heather, thanks for the great swimming suit and all of the fabulous clothes. Its delightful. Miles and Juliet in the "Rocket Ship Bed" that Coy made him in our bedroom. As Coy says, "It's all about how you sell it." Juliet in her Stampede outfit for the Cardston Parade. Thank you again Heather. A parent from Miles preschool loaned us a few of her daughter's outfits. When I put this outfit on Miles said "Mom, why does Juliet have on boring clothes today?" Apparently beige = boring. Certainly not her flashiest outfit, but definitely very comfortable. Juliet does not like tummy time, and on August 1, she decided she disliked it enough to roll herself over. She hasn't done it again, but she's sure looking close.
Miles goofing around after his bath. Eau Caire water park with the Allison's. Miles and a bunch of other kids had a ton of fun floating their sticks through a little canal and we all came home with a ton of mosquito bites. Go Cubs. Miles often puts his cub hat on Juliet and repeats the mantra, "Juliet loves the Cubs." I'm pretty sure he didn't come up with this himself.
Will somebody PLEASEEEE help me!
